An influential position has arisen for a Group Sustainability Lead to join FirstGroup plc, a leading private sector provider of public transport.
The Group Sustainability Lead will contribute to the Group sustainability framework, Mobility Beyond Today, driving its delivery in terms of environmental commitments within a complex business environment.
This role will report into the Director of Corporate Responsibility and work with the Group Corporate Responsibility Team to take accountability for the monitoring, reporting and benchmarking of environmental performance across the group, whilst continually innovating and strengthening the approach to the wider sustainability agenda including procurement and biodiversity.

The successful candidate will:
- Be a dynamic self-starter with experience implementing and delivering policy across a large, corporate and ideally matrix business.
- Have expertise working with UK regulatory requirements, along with industry frameworks, standards and carbon reporting tools. This includes the requirements of TCFD, DJSI, CDP and FTSE4Good.
- Be used to dealing with a wide range of senior stakeholders who have competing priorities and demands, translating complex technical requirements into operationally understood and deliverable objectives.
- Be happy to work both operationally and strategically, to deliver on the required goals and outcomes.
- Hold a relevant degree or equivalent working experience.
- Work from their London office a minimum of two days per week.
