What we need:

Our client is seeking an experienced principal level ecologist who is eager to broaden their skill set and enhance their project management capabilities. 

What you will do:
  • Managing UK Habitat Classification Surveys and protected species surveys (licenced).

  • Developing tenders and creating complex fee quotations efficiently.

  • Producing detailed technical reports including PEA, BNG, protected species, Habitat Management Plans, BREEAM, HRAs, and EcIAs.

  • Overseeing medium to large-sized projects with financial tracking.

  • Providing line management to junior ecologists.

  • Solving logistical and legislative challenges.

Where you will do it:
  • Fully remote position with the flexibility to manage your own schedule.
  • Work from home and conduct fieldwork in your local area, without the need for regular office visits.

Ideal applicant: We welcome applications from Senior Ecologists or existing Principals seeking a new challenge. You should hold full membership with the Chartered Institute of Ecology & Environmental Management (MCIEEM), possess a relevant degree (or higher), and have at least one protected species licence. Personal Track Safety or Highways Passport accreditation would be beneficial but not critical to be considered for the role.

What you will need:

  • A desire for line management.

  • Strong prioritisation skills and timely task completion.

  • High attention to detail in technical reporting.

  • Deep understanding of UK wildlife legislation and its application.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Team-oriented and personable, even in challenging situations.

  • A full UK driving license.
